I'm Sam Bleicher. The Strategic Path
LLC is the legal entity for my academic and consulting activities. (See About Us for full biographical information.)
Recent Academic Activities - Beginning in 2007, I have taught International Trade and WTO (through the
University of San Diego Law School Summer Program in Moscow), Common Law Legal
Reasoning and American Civil Procedure (in Beijing in the Temple University/Tsinghua
University Law School Joint LLM Program and the Chinese National Judges
College), and International Negotiations (at Georgetown
University Law School in Washington, DC). I have also given brief lectures on these subjects at other law schools in China, and I have published some short articles on current China topics. I am available
to teach and lecture on these subjects anywhere in the world.
Consulting Activities - The Strategic Path LLC
provides strategic advice that calls for the ability to deal with complex
problems that do not fall neatly into the domain of one or another established
professional discipline. Current
activities for business clients involve advising on establishment of contractual
arrangements with the Department of State and initiating negotiations to
establish a US-Chinese business partnership.
My ability to
address complex problems stems from my unusually wide range of expertise and
experience. My formal education (BA in
Economics with Honors from Northwestern University, JD from Harvard law School
with emphasis on international law) was followed by a decade as a law
professor, 20 years in private law practice, and a decade as a senior
government official dealing with environmental and foreign affairs
issues.
My most
recent governmental post was Chief Strategist for New Initiatives in the State
Department’s Overseas Buildings Operations Bureau, which is responsible for the
construction and operation of diplomatic facilities in 262 locations around the
world.
